Well on the first of February I was on week 9, with only 2 runs to go to earn me the "graduated" trophy on the app. But 2 days earlier I had broken a toe. I was so determined I ran anyway but chose not to later in the week, meaning one left to run but now the toe was giving me discomfort and I had to stop.
That week of rest led to another, and another, and then a month had passed, and then another. It is however never too late to get the shoes back on. At the end of April, under lockdown and with Cto5k in the news I decided to run again. That was ok, but 10 weeks or so of not running I was clearly not able to go straight back to 30 min runs so dropped myself back from week 9 to do Week3Run1, to give me a bit of a test. It wasn't as tough as I thought it might be, yes some effort but still achievable. My next run (a week later) was W4R1, not too hard getting closer to where I was, and then a few days after that I got back into the programme proper at Week 5 Run 1. I have now completed the third run of week 9 and carried on. My route is longer than 5k so that I can do 5 min walk at start and end, but am starting to do more stretching and warm up so that I can run the whole route (6.2km) and am starting to consider 10km as being possible.
