Good morning, just wanted to say hi, just joined, I am on week 7, 5 mins into my run, had to cut it short, desperately needed the toilet! Sorry for the awkward topic on my introduction. Had to cut my run short! Any tips please!

Hi!
😂😂 what an opening gambit! Good for you! I struggle with this too. How do you stay hydrated but not need the loo every time you’re out! If I limit my liquids pre run I’m absolutely parched 5 mins in. I think part of my problem is I have to travel for 30 mins to get somewhere nice to run so any drinks have already filtered through (sorry TMI 😂) I’ll be interested to hear the responses too.
Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
If it is the first time in 7 weeks, then I would not consider it a problem, but do not stint on fluid intake.
Perhaps kegel exercises would be helpful.
Enjoy your journey.
I’ve had this problem a few times on the longer runs, but can I politely ask is it number 1s or 2s?
I have had to find bushes many times on walks and I always carry dog waste bags with me and loo roll as I feel it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it!
Another thing to remember is that you are unlikely to see those people again who were around when you went behind the bush.
I would say not to have high fibre foods the day before a run or anything that upsets you.
Best of luck!
I have the same 😔, have no real idea why, doesn’t seem to happen when I go out first thing in the morning. It has been suggested that maybe I eat too much fibre I’m just experimenting at the moment hopefully I’ll find a solution
Welcome, you’re probably drinking too much close to your run, I’ve done this before. Spread your drinking out over the day and try not to drink too much a couple of hours prior to running, I find that works for me 😊
