Does anyone use energy boosts?

I noticed when I ran the other night after work, my body felt like it was ready to stop at 3.5K, I although i forced myself to finish the 5K, it’s taken my body an extra day to recover from cramps, and only then with the help of heat rub and ibuprofen.

Due to the nature of my work drinking as much as I was previously is a little more tricky, no loos in my bus for example 😂 Also I work long shifts so my body is probably naturally tired by the time I run.

I’ve been looking at isotonic drinks/gels. Any thoughts?

Why don't you give them a go? As I see it you've nothing to lose. Also make sure you drink plenty before you run and if you're struggling with you let's aching then take an extra day off to recover😁

I went and spoke to a bloke in Holland & Barrett, he seems to think I may not be eating enough on my work days and that I may benefit from post run protein intake 👍🏻

Definitely wouldn’t say gels!

Maybe a hydration tablet in your drink though.
