Bidding a fond farewell to intervals ...

... at least for now as this morning W6R2 was safely negotiated !

Had a bit of a wobble during 2nd 10 mins when I said to myself

“Don’t stop now, you’ll only have to do it again” and then had a good chuckle because if this going to be way of life for me, I’m going to have to do it loads more times !

I’ve got a set little route I started 6 weeks ago and now getting considerably beyond my previous “finish line”. Obviously more running than walking these days but I do believe I may be going a tad quicker too. Don’t get me wrong, it really isn’t about speed for me but a couple of weeks ago I calculated approx 50 min run to complete 5k which sounded out of the question for me.

I still believe my inaugural 5k will be around the 45 min mark but now starting to believe the distance will eventually be in my grasp no matter how long it takes - perhaps for me it will C25K in 20 weeks and not 9 but it feels good that I’m not daunted by the prospect.

Strange but true - actually looking forward to Friday and potentially 25 mins.

Thanks for all the advice and support I’m getting along the way from this forum - means a lot to me.

It won't take you 20 weeks to complete the course, congratulations on running run 2 of week 6, that is the last run with interval walks and runs, onwards and upwards to run 3, after you complete that run you will be officially a runner.

Congratulations, I've completed this run today as well. I was going slowly and got showered on but was happy to have been able to complete it. Hadn't realised that there are no more intervals left! Looks like we'll be classed as runners soon!

Well done

So I understand ... hard to believe really - for me anyway🙂

Well done for doing it too - I have been really lucky weather wise so far - blustery and drizzly on occasions but not really any soggy jogs !
