To be honest the drama started last night...there I was browsing the SB sale ( again) because I was sucked in by another email. Anyway hubby caught me looking and said if you want them get them. This dear reader, despite appearances, is not a good thing! It can only mean one thing. He is contemplating a purchase that he knows will get him in trouble- so that’s either a guitar or a car. He’s forever trading up and down with wheels and strats. And I thought I had married a teacher not Del Boy! Anyway I digress...not to look a gift horse in the mouth, some leggings fell in basket ... but by the time I had got to checkout they were gone 🙁I was resigned to not getting any having conveniently forgotten that a couple of things may have already fallen in the basket on Monday- (Del Boy doesn’t know this!)

Anyway went to bed relatively early ready for this morning’s run, but made the fatal mistake of checking my phone. Another email from SB- leggings in the sale - the pair I had wanted! Reader I bought them...or so I thought. Got all the way to checkout and payment and then when it reloaded - £0 - tried again same thing- someone had beat me to it just at the last minute - it was like missing out on eBay when someone puts a last minute bid in. So I went back and saw that a different pair had become available in my size - this is meant to be I thought- checked out, nothing happened. I must admit at this point I suspected that Boo Alto was lurking in the site at the same time! 😜 One final try, it said one pair left. Checkout fingers crossed... dramatic pause ( the website not me) - success!! Woohoo. No confirmation email. Oh well I’ll check in the morning.

By this time my early night had become rather late. I was reading everyone’s posts and they were so inspiring I thought that I would still try and get up for my run if I woke up in time - as you know I refuse to use alarms. Well I woke at 6, got myself sorted and out there. Not nearly as windy as Monday and I set off on a potential 5K route. Listened to a great podcast from Claudia Winkleman and Prof Tanya - I’ve always fancied myself as an armchair psychiatrist- really you say- I thought you were Jane Austen !! I didn’t really get into my groove until about 15 mins, my breathing was quite heavy and I slowed down - maybe I have always been Darth Vader but my playlists drowned it out before. So I gritted it out and did 5K in 37 mins which seems to be my average at the moment. And dare I say it, these weekly 5Ks are becoming a bit more comfortable- only a bit but I feel I’m making progress. Just wait till my SB stuff arrives - there’ll be no stopping me. As Beetroot says all the gear no idea!! 🤣🤣

PS- Still no email but it has appeared in ‘my orders’ so hopefully new cropped leggings are on their way! Disclaimer- I do not work for SB ( omg imagine the staff discount !!)

Have a great day everyone

Completely relate to this post. I have had SB basket dramas this week with items disappearing before i get my card details in. I am realy hoping that lovely leggings and a top will help propell me to the end of the c25k programme :D

I’m glad it’s not just me having SB basket dramas! I reckon anything that gives us motivation is fine right?! Good luck with finishing the programme - in style!

Ha ha! I am resisting SB sale as I simply can't be trusted when any sale is on, I'll buy it even if I don't really want it! Well done on the 5k, glad you're enjoying the podcasts by CW & TB, I love them. Have a good day, i'm off to brave town and return some of my sons ski wear that sadly was not needed from Decathlon (trip cancelled obvs) I think that Decathlon have a running section... :)

Love reading that!

The website drama had me on the edge of my seats!

SB - I’m guilty of perusing that website too!

I’ve not got any of their stuff yet - I have spent the equivalent of a small country’s national debt on running stuff but hey ho... I need it!.. right?

Tell me (before I congratulate for your run...) are they worthy of the hefty price tag?

Right now that’s out the way...

Whoop whoop 🙌🏃🏽‍♀️

Smashed it Lady! 👏👏👏

And 37 minutes! I’m a slow 40+ minutes working out on my times now and I’m not yet at 5k

So

I bow down to your achievements!

Ps. You have given me itchy fingers and I’m now scouring the WWW for more gear! 🤣

Love it, I got a new car before the lockdown but I'm looking at a new bike, a new Garmin and a cycling computer (plus a few additions to the car, bike carrier, activity key kit (it's a Jag thing that is great for runners and cyclists)).

I don't tend to buy many running clothes, I have a couple of technical t-shirts, some shorts and some long running pants but that's it really, I did see a pair of shorts in Decathlon the other day with a pocket big enough for my phone, I may pick a pair up.

Good luck with the leggings, happy running.

Tiny Tears...Well... SB is undeniably spendy- and I have been looking enviously and wondering if it’s worth it... but I got a new pair of leggings a couple of weeks ago ( with discount code)and the material is so different to all my other stuff - really soft. I think with all stuff you get what you pay for- it’s the extras like running pockets and overall design.I’ve yet to decide if it’s worth it, I’ll see how they wash and last. But they look sooo nice!! 😜

Thanks for your kind comments - I was at 40 mins at graduation and somehow it has just come down. I don’t think I’ll get much quicker but I’m loving the fact I can enter them into the (not) park runs. I joined in case I wanted to do them when they return - and I think I might actually do it! 🏃🏼‍♀️

If I have an early night I must confess to an addiction to shoe porn.. usually the result of emails from sportsshoes.com!.. so you have all my sympathies for your SB habit.. 😊

5k in 37 minutes average? That’s fantastic in my book..! 🤸🏾‍♂️

I’m a marketing man’s dream - they know exactly when to send an email!! Luckily i hate shoe shopping with my little hobbit feet or I might join you! 😜

Actually I am quite surprised at my 37 mins today as i felt it was heavy going - but I guess it just shows that programme is continuing to do its magic! 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️
