Loss of motivation

I have found since completing couch to 5K I’m struggling to get the motivation to keep running.I’ll go out and it’s either been too hot or very windy (yesterday).i have gone for a long walk instead though.

I’m looking for any ideas to see if I can turn this around.many thanks.

I'm one run away from graduating, and one thing I'm wary of is not having the sense of accountability. At the moment, I know that I've got to do WxRx, tick it off the list, move on to the next one.... it's very structured and even though nobody is there to 'sign me in', it still feels that I've got a reason to run. Without that structure, I'm afraid I'll just let it drift and think of the excuses not to run - I'm a bit tired, I'm too hot, too cold.... I could come up with a million reasons.

Have you tried looking at any of the consolidation plans, or stepping stone plans? Would that help you get back into it do you think?

Or could you give yourself a goal of x number of weeks running, or x number of kms to run in a month. Maybe sign up to some of the virtual running challenges to give yourself the motivation.

Do you like running?

Why did you start C25K?

Did you enjoy it?

Did you think about how you want to progress your running, ie. any goals, targets etc?

Follow the links given by IannodaTruffe and pick your running shoes up.. the motivation hides under them...put them on and simply run :)

I've struggled a bit too. Last week I only went running once because the heat and my hayfever were too much. I did force myself to go out yesterday in spite of the wind and I'm glad I did. I'm using the week 9 podcasts and after a couple more consolidation runs I'm going to try the stepping stones and the zombies run app. It sets quests that you need to complete based on your fitness goals and you work on speed by running away from zombies! It sounds like fun and it should provide the structure that the c25k provided. There are other running apps that may give you some structure and milestones to help with motivation.

Thank you all.I think I’ll give the podcasts a go.

I have been still using the couch to 5k app but maybe the change of listening might give me the boost I need.
