Evening all, did 5.8km in 30mins tonight, went really well, perfect conditions and I was in the mood fir running!
Ran a steady pace throughout and really enjoyed it. I can't believe that just over 11 weeks ago I couldn't run for 3 mins, now I'm running somewhat comfortably for 30π³.
Only problem is my right calf, it's paining me again. Think I might rest it for longer before next run.
Hope you're all well and progressingππββοΈπ

Amazing stats, well done. Would love to follow in your footsteps in a few weeks. I normally take 2 days between runs and it seems to clear up any nighles.π€
You have been doing very well with all those runs consistently every other day, I do think before you go onto the Stepping Stones Podcast with Laura which are quite intense to a certain extent you should give yourself a few more extra days off running, well done on completing I think that was six 30 minute consolidation runs.
Hi Al yes that was the 6th 30 min consolidation run. I listened a stepping stone podcast last night and yes it does seem a bit intense! I want to have an extra day's rest but don't want to break my routine, likewise I don't want to injure myself. A longer rest it is. ππββοΈ
5.8k!! That's so fast! Good for you - but get some ice on the calf muscle and maybe some massage. I've been using a foam roller - very good in these times of no physio.
I have had various aches and pains at times throughout the past 3 months which have all gone away after a while. The Achilles pain worried me but I bought new trainers and did a few strengthening exercises to sort it out. The calf pain went away with ice and rest and the more recent knee issue has finally gone now too - I think just needed more strength in the hamstrings and glutes. It's encouraging to know that whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger in the end!
Good advice thank you. You've obviously weathered the storm. I had no issues for 10 weeks, then ran a different route, a section of which had a steep incline which I presume is the cause of my calf strain. I should be going for a run tomorrow but I'm going to rest again and see how I get on Thursday, if not 100% ill rest for another day.
