W7R3 - Very successful!

Today's run was so much better than the last two runs. Think the heat was making it worse but this one almost felt like a breeze (it also felt like a breeze because it was a bit chilly and didn't base my attire on that, thought shorts and a t-shirt would work but definitely was a bit nippy for 5 minutes or so - but I'm fine now!) - only thing is my pace was slightly slower and my average cadence was 149spm which is slightly less than usual, and I didn't cover as much distance as last time - however this might have been a good thing overall as my heart rate is a whole 10BPM less than it was last time, so maybe that's why it felt easier!

It's strange that I feel disappointed that things are slightly less than usual, however I have been feeling really achey lately with my other workouts (my rest day from everything was yesterday) so maybe my body just wanted a nice and easy run today 😂 My burnt calories were definitely lower today, however I'm not too fussed about this as since my weight loss journey I have lost 1st 4 pounds so far so can't exactly complain, and I'm more focused on improving my running style and technique rather than how many calories I'm burning - it's just a bonus for me really!

Nervous for W8 as I feel like 3 minutes mentally is a lot more intense, but I'm sure it won't feel like that on my run, as long as I keep positive!

Slow and steady as you go, and just keep on doing what you are doing:)

The runs are the thing and enjoying them, anything else is a real bonus.

I used to focus on elements of my style when I was doing Couch, nearly five years ago... the way bits of me were moving etc etc... It helped enormously and even now, I have times when I consciously focus on an aspect, to help me with the run itself:)

I must have missed your post when you did this run! Well done. It’s great when everything comes together. I don’t know what cadence is 😳 I’ll look it up tomorrow! I checked calories the other day and it did cross my mind that no wonder I am losing weight, although that is not my intention 😀. You seem like ages ahead of me, but it soon comes round. Good luck with W8!
