Setting a pace?!

Just completed week 2 run 1 and felt ok but I’m worried I’m running too slowly. How do I know what is the right pace, or does it not matter, if I’m comfortable with it?

Congratulations on starting! I hope you’ll love it as much as I am 😊🏃🏼‍♀️

I was told slow and steady is best. You can get speed up later, when your body is used to running: these weeks are about slowly getting your body stronger and gradually increasing the time you can spend running, not about speed or distance. There’s a pinned post on the C25K home page which gives you all the tips you need - it’s really helpful - do have a read. Enjoy your running!

It’s in the FAQ post at the top - the top link it gives: how to run C25K 👍🏻

Slow and steady is perfect and being comfortable with it is absolutely perfect...! It is what it's all about and it does not matter one iota!

Huge well done you!!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on pacing, which is defined by your ability to speak as you run.

Enjoy your journey.

If your run is comfortable then that's the right pace for you, there's no such thing as too slow. Well done 😊
