So I hesitated over doing this today as it’s hot but just thought get it done. I did want to push on to 5K but my legs just stopped at about 4.8K, saying that at this point I had gone over the 30 minutes so had technically graduated. As silly as it sounds I’m not too gutted because I did run 5K I think on W9R1. I kind of wanted to go out with a bang, and feel like I really made progress, but it was just too hot today. I do have a smidge of sunburn on my arm! Anyway, it’s done it’s finished. My next goal is to try and increase my distance by 1K at a time.
I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everybody who has given me any encouragement and positive comments, or even just liked my comments. It’s great to be part of this community. Anyone just starting this journey who is scared and worried don’t be. It’s a completely doable program that has been tried and tested with thousands of people. Coming from a health psychology background I can understand how having these mini achievable goals along the way really help you get to that ultimate aim. Don’t think too far ahead just think about this immediate goal that you are working on right now. We never eat a chocolate elephant all in one go but take small-ish (sometimes big) bite sized chunks.
Good luck everyone 🏃🏻♀️😊 i’m treating myself to chips tonight!

Well done! I'm just at week 5. Did the first run on Sunday but because of medical appointments - waiting for the last as i write - so have not been able to do any more since. Was hoping to repeat run 1 today but it is SO HOT! Good luck with you future running life!
Congratulations to you and very well done on doing your graduation run on a very warm day. Enjoy your chips tonight. You have done really well and you are doing a great pace. It’s a really good idea to continue to run for 30 minutes or 5K x 3 times per week for about 6 weeks first so as to build on your new running legs. Then you can start increasing distance. I got to 10K by picking one of my 3 runs per week as my long run and each week added 500 meters onto it.
I’m running 3 years now since graduating myself from C25K. Enjoy getting out there as a graduate for a few weeks and doing 3 x 5K per week first before moving on. Build it up slowly. That way you won’t get injured and you will build your Running legs.
