What have you done that's made you feel like a runner?

... Apart from the actual running!

I've got to w8 and I'm rapidly becoming more and more obsessed with running. I always thought that I just wasn't the type for running, and I'd hate it, but in the last 8 weeks I've started to think I could actually be a runner now. Or almost 😉

So what have you done, or said, thought, that has made you think, actually, I'm a runner. Here are some of mine:

Ran in torrential rain ✔️

Set my alarm to run at silly o'clock ✔️

Turned 90% of my birthday wishlist into requests for running gear ✔️

Pored over Garmin stats, then strava, just to compare ✔️

Ran while desperately needing the loo 🙈✔️

Anyone else?

Love this! Truly! Relatable!

My girlie friend text me this morning... we normally chat about make up or spa days or afternoon tea or some other girlie event but no... NO!

Today she txt to ask me about my running gear and I had to confess I’m now browsing running world and other running websites!

Certainly gave us a giggle but I’m so loving the journey

I have an emergency all weather run kit in the car!... ✅

I’m actually inspiring my friends to exercise (does this mean they thought I was previously a lazy lump?)

Long may it continue - but I do recognise I’m typing this from the smugness of my rest day! 🤣

haha - yes, no more make up chat!

emergency kit in the car is impressive though, I like that!

What’s even more impressive is she was asking my advice on running clothing! 🤣 ‘hang on luv ... let’s not get too carried away ... I’m only on week 6 myself’

All of a sudden I’m a go to expert on the subject of running 🏃🏽‍♀️ We found it so funny!

Oh yeah ERK (Emergency run kit) it means I can run wherever, whenever,

Try it... you won’t be disappointed and it may just come in handy one day

Happy running 😀

Jogging on the spot to let people pass by on a narrow footpath.. never thought I’d be one of those people 😳

I've found myself thinking about running A LOT. When it's a rest day I'm itching to get out and run (I don't tho) and find myself looking up running clothes more than "normal" clothes lol.

I think lockdown has definitely added to that - I was browsing the online sales and thought, there's no point looking for work clothes, or holiday clothes... all I'm wearing is running kit!

Oh and I’ve always hated getting wet ... but just loved my run in the torrential rain - 🏃🏽‍♀️ felt like a professional (snail 🐌)

The fact that I’m actually out there doing it 😂 No, seriously, before C25K I had zero motivation for running, ever. Was going the gym, but never went near a treadmill. So even after 10 weeks, just sitting there and saying to myself, I think I’ll go for a run later, still seems odd 😊

If I’m in a bit of a bad mood and I can’t shake it, I now find myself thinking “I need to go for a run” - I never thought I’d be that person either 😀

Probably something I haven’t done really... since I reached about 18 months of running, I haven’t worn jeans! I tend to be in my running trousers all the time... running shirts are just about all I wear... I have gloves, hats, buffs, and shoes in both the house and the car... whenever and wherever the mood takes me, I’m ready to run in 5 minutes! Not sure how I’ll cope if I get invited to a wedding or anything like that though 🤣

Downloaded handful running apps, from zombies to brand names, and eager to try them all! ✔️

1. Ran 5k in 31:14 mins 😀, when I could hardly run 60 seconds in week 1

2. Shopped in Sports Direct actually enjoyed it and was like a kid in a candy store, looking at all the running gear.

3. Bought said running gear and run outdoors in it, instead of on a treadmill without feeling self conscious (that’s a biggy for me)

4. Set the alarm for 5:15am every Mon, Wed, Friday so I’m out running by 6am...ie silly o’clock.

5. Work colleagues who are good runners and have been doing it for sometime asking me how my running is going.

That pretty much sums up the main ones that make me feel like a runner 👍🏃‍♂️

I'm hoping to finish C25K tomorrow and will run once more before going away and not running for a week. I have 2 days back at home before I go away again. One of the two days is my birthday so am planning on running on this day as I can't run the other day I'm at home as I'm donating blood.

WHO EVEN AM I?!?!

I'm definitely obsessed:

1. Semi check. Have run in rain but avoided torrential rain so far.

2. Alarm is set to 7am on run days, and sometimes I've woken earlier naturally and decided to go for run rather than go back to sleep. During lockdown working from home, I'd been treating myself to a lie in until 8.45am.

3. Bought running gear off eBay. Bought running watch.

4. I've got three! FitoTrack, Garmin connect and Strava.

5. I've desperately wanted the loo several times in the last week's runs.

I'd add a

6. Feel guilty if I'm not running that day.
