What’s next??

So my next run is W8R3. Since week 5 I have been running double distance as I felt I had it in me and I’ve managed to keep it up. I’m running away from the house until the run is complete and turning around at that point.

So my question is what can I do after this? I have loved using this app and it has undoubtedly got me to where I am now. When I complete my final run next week I will absolutely need something to start after my rest day to keep me going.

I have an Apple Watch and the Nike run app with that but I was looking to see if anyone has used a particular run on that they could recommend?

Thanks all 👍🏼

Hi,

You say " I have been running double distance" ...I’m running away from the house until the run is complete and turning around at that point".

Does that mean you're running longer than the 28 minutes of Week 8? You should run to time NOT distance. So run for 14 minutes away from your house and then turn around.

So you're running 2x 28 minutes? Yes?

Before C25K, when was the last time you had run?

Hi John. Yes so yesterday I was due to run for 28 minutes. I walk my 5 minutes warm up then run for 28 minutes away from home and when I get the 5 minute cool down signal I then turn and run back another 28 minutes then finish with my 5 minute walk. So I am running for 56 minutes. I used to run but stopped about 9 years ago.

Bridge to 10k. Join the other forum and look in the pinned posts for the programme. Parkrun is fab so definitely aim for that when it opens up again.

Hi Tasha, thank you. Is that also part of the HealthUnlocked app?

Yes, go on home then communities and join the 10k forum. Then there’s a marathon one when you’re ready 🤣

Just post to say hello! It’s as nice as this one 😍

I would be a bit careful if I was you regarding your distance and the amount of time you're spending on your feet. Your enthusiasm is great but if you really came from the 'couch' with 9 years of no running previously, then your body will have massively de-trained and to start to do double-time and double-distance after only 5 weeks from a baseline of zero minutes and zero distance is risking injury in my opinion.

Couchto10k/60mins in 9 weeks seems very risky.

Not what you're looking for?
