Educating Enid - Week 0: Get your outfit ready!

Trying on an outfit is preparation for an event. My inner ego, Enid, was concerned that as our last run was in March it was a whole different season and it required long leggings and rain jackets.

Even negative thoughts on changes in body size mean checking out outfits for exercise would be useful.

Our inner ego's concerns need to be listened to and addressed so those little voices don't get bigger.

Enough said...cut off leggings purchased and outfit ready. Tick.

Glad you dealt with your inner ego so efficiently! You are already winning.

Thank you, HappyNoodle. As you can imagine I spent ages rooting through drawers and trying things on just for a 30 minute power walk. 🤦‍♀️ I was also over dressed and too hot. 😎🤣👣

You have to underdress so you can walk faster to keep warm 😉

Ahhh so that's the secret. 🤣

Well done you are ready for this, and Enid looks fab as usual

Thank you so much, WillowandSola. It felt really strange just to go for a walk on my own (but with Enid of course). First time since mid March. Often out but always with someone. 👣

Nice one Enid - I’m into upcycling clothes at the moment, that and producing face masks ready to face the outside world! Fab little painting Nilsam, and good luck when you venture out 👍😁

That's brilliant, Wenderwoo. I look forward to photos. I had a go at NHS scrubs bags but my attempt at a mask was a bit of a fail. Just did the first 30 mins power walk for week 0 and legs a bit wobbly but we did it. 👣

Thank you, Wenderwoo. OH was concerned too so coming back in one piece helped everyone relax. 👣😘

You'll smash it Nilsam. Just take it easy on that arm. No running on ur hands!

Thank you, Delly-dot. Bit scared I will trip again but I feel I have to face the fear. Yes, Enid's going with me this time. 👭

In January, my first run back after 6 months on the IC was amazing. I was on a real high, despite the fact that I was right back at the beginning again. Happy week 0 😀

Oh wow I didn't realise. Thank you for that. Very reassuring. 👣

Nice pic Nilsam! Preventing a change in body size has been a real issue over lockdown, that’s for sure - I reckon if I get through it at the same weight as I was at the beginning it’ll be a miracle! I’m glad you’re now able to get yourself out there again - hope your arm is healing up!

Thank you so much, Oldgirlruns. Yes, it is certainly one of the reasons for wanting to get back to running. I know it's much more to do with how much and what goes in my mouth but the running keeps me focused on good health.

Thank you for letting Enid’s belly hang out. She and I share like bellies. Running required me to stop sucking in my gut In order to breathe. Didn’t realize I’ve done that all my life probably since being a teen. Shocking to understand as I’m in my fifties, but glad that it’s addressed.

Thank you, dieOR5k. This is my inner ego that has that shape however much weight I lost or situps I do in the morning. At 60 🤦‍♀️I realised I couldn't let my body shape stop me from trying things...it gets in the way of some yoga poses. 🤣 You are absolutely right when we start relaxing and actually breathing we are taking steps towards better health. Happy running, dieOR5k

How exciting, preparing your warm weather running gear! Now don't you listen to Enid and wear your gear with pride!

Thanks, Roxdog. It certainly is a bit different from running in January. (Gloves and Beany hat. )😎

I'm glad you handled it! I understand that my question is a bit off-topic, but still. Where do you think I can buy matching underwear for couples (something like that matchinggear.com/underwear-...? My husband and I have an anniversary coming up and I think this would be a great gift for two. I found several options on the Internet, but I would like to know your opinion. Do you have matching underwear? Did your partner like this gift? I will be glad to receive any feedback.
