Getting faster in consolidation without trying!

What a lovely day (and a sweaty run this morning). Finished 4.6k in 30 minutes - a new PB! I’ve switched from a podcast to music for the past two runs and it seems to have helped with pace. 👍

Feeling good today!

Well done, it is as if everything comes together isn’t it. Won’t be long before you hit 5k in the 30minutes or you just decide to keep going till 5k

I’m hoping to keep on to 5k next week and start training to run up to an hour! Exciting times 😁👏

Well done, a sweaty run shows you’ve put in the effort, music does help you pick up the pace, especially something with a good beat to it. I put a post on here recently titled Ultimate Playlist and it was interesting to see what songs motivate people. I’ve also been doing consolidation runs and rather than running 30 minutes now I run for 5k and try to gradually improve my time. I use a Fitbit Charge 3 to let me know when I’ve reached the 5k and what my time is...Good Luck with your continuing journey 👍

I think all of my runs are sweaty 🥵 haha! Ooh, I’ll have a look at that. I have a couple of songs that help but my playlist is varied so I feel my pace slowing on some songs. That sounds like a great way to assess, I’m really considering getting a Fitbit. What is the Fitbit charge 3 like?

Fitbit Charge 3 is Really good and easy to use to, (has to be for me 🤪) you can set it to tell you when you reach various distances that you set and the time it’s taken you, it fades out your music and a voice tells you that you’ve reached....say 5k and the time it’s taken. It’s got loads of different functions and stuff, which I’m sure I’ll get around to looking at.

I’ve also downloaded run zombie run app, which is an interactive running game, basically you’re a runner for the camp of survivors and get set missions etc and zombies chasing you I suppose, I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks fun and you use your own playlist with it.
