Just wanted to write a few lines of thanks too all those who have written the many courageous and helpful posts that I have read.
I am now on run 2 of week 8 and I couldn’t have made it this far if I didn’t have the wonderful community to encourage me every step of the way.
The only negative that I have experienced is a very achy back which keeps me awake at night does anyone have any ideas apart from ibuprofen!? Thanks in hope 😊

Welcome to the forums (at least in a posting sense) and very well done getting to week 8. Have a read of the guide to the plan if you haven’t seen it already, it’s never too late to pick up some tips! healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Are you doing any cross training? I’d be looking at strengthening the lower back, upper back and upper legs to reduce the issues you’re seeing... so some light upper body exercises. Planks/bridges/crunches etc for the core and squats for the legs. Running will expose any weaknesses anywhere you have them... cross training on your whole body will make running easier, and also reduce the risk of injury.
I found the forum helpful in getting through the programme too - and am still running! Week 8 for me was the toughest and exposed old injuries and niggles. For my back, pilates really helped by strengthening the core. Stretching back and glutes also helps - I do find back pain is not helped by tight glutes! Good luck, and I hope you are not awake at night with pain for long - sounds rubbish! Take care
Thanks so much for taking the trouble to reply 😊 I did start Pilates just before lock down but then all the classes stopped. I see if I can find any on mine ones. Thanks again 🌻
