Well it seems I’m very shallow... amazing what you learn about yourself with this running malarkey. My motivation today? Wanted to try out my new Sweaty Betty headband! Have to say I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to get one as I’ve been struggling with sweat in my eyes since the start!! Anyway if this is what it takes to motivate me when I lose my mojo this could be an expensive habit! ( Anyone who has inside info on when SB sale starts please do share! ) Also kept my headphones in a treat so I could sing even louder 😂
Anyway felt like taking it easy today so just a gentle 25 mins round trip down the beach. It’s a bit humid but lovely and still. “Glowing” as ever in my new headband😜 😓

Looks good! And great that it holds the headphones in securely. I don’t have inside info on SB sale, I’m afraid, hopefully someone else will know?
I’ve just had my first run with my new stretchy waistband thingy that holds my phone, keys, etc. Until now, I’d been holding my phone in my hand, as I didn’t like the armbands and don’t like the feel of the buckle on so many of the bumbags. I’d researched alternatives, found these waistbands, and was impatient for them (I got two, one pink, one blue) to arrive so I could try it, see if it works! I love my new bit of kit, it works brilliantly for me, so I’m completely with you when it comes to getting excited about trying out something new.
Nice that you’re close enough to a beach to include that in your run!
I think those of us lucky enough to live near open countryside or the beach have been helped hugely by our environment recently. As you say, we’ve maybe not appreciated that before.
My waistbands are from Amazon. If you type in: Build & Fitness Running Belt they should pop up. They’re £20.99 each, or a small discount if you buy two. I’ve found it sits very comfortably over my leggings without moving around or riding up, it holds my new iPhone X plus my house key and, if I needed it, some cash, tissues, etc as well. Nothing falls out, it’s all held securely, and I really don’t know I’m wearing it.
I’ve got some nicely patterned ‘handybands’ from Seasalt Cornwall that I often use as neck scarves in the winter, but you’ve inspired me to try them as head bands for running now too.
Oh, and further to my reply half an hour ago, you might also need to type in ‘flip waist belt’ as Build & Fitness seems to also do a clip version for £20.49, which I didn’t like so much because of the buckle.
So jealous of headband! I’ve been looking for one as I’m having issues with stray hair in my eyes but haven’t committed yet, I may check out the SB website ££
