Wk 8 run 2

On Friday I completed wk 8 run 2, I'm loving the fact I can now run and feel like I've made massive progress (and by the difference in my run lengths and energy/fitness I can see and feel it). Friday was a significant date for me and I wanted to get a good run under my belt, so when Laura said my 28mins was up I decided to stretch it out a little as felt good and felt I had a little more left int he tank. I did an extra 5mins - dictated by my distance - I hit 5k for the 1st time since I was about 15yrs old and now I'm 51, so I was so chuffed with myself and enjoyed the rainy 15minute walk home (yes, need to plan a little better). At the stat I never thought I'd be running 5minutes let alone 32... so glad I did this and to anyone reading this in your early weeks - STICK to the weekly plan and your stamina and endurance will come, it does work and you can do it - if I can as an overweight grey bloke born in '68 then you can.

Back to the plan tonight for wk8 run 3, then I'm so looking forward to planning my final 3 runs and treating myself to some new running music - but I will miss Laura and her words of encouragement and congratulations.

Keep Safe

Congratulations. Most of us have good days and then times when we struggle. You are well on top of it, and I hope you stay there.

The rate of progress recommended is intended to protect us from injury from undertaking too much too soon. I did a little extra yesterday and my bones are reminding me it's their day off; I hear them!

Well done mate. Starting week 3 today and this is just what I needed to read to give me the push when it starts to burn.

Thank You Cookies to Cut. If you currently don't run without the help of Laura (podcast) or one of the celebs on the app I can definitely recommend using one - great for timings especially in the early weeks when its walk run walk run etc. The 1st 20 min run seems daunting but just look at it as a challenge that you've been prepared for and one that's just distance not speed. Best of Luck

I hear that. I've got the app and listen to Sarah. My mom's thousands of miles away and I haven't seen her for years. Sarah has that loving touch I need. Even the big men can be mommies boys. Haha
