I’m about to start week 9 and am worried about what happens after it finishes! Can anyone recommend a really good app that would a) possibly get me to a longer distance b) help with weight loss c) maybe improve my speed d) has that motivating voice in the ear to get me through each run and finally e) actually work!!

Any suggestions gratefully received. Thank you.

The running world is your oyster... use the next month or so of consolidation (and there's a club run by Mummycav ) to really think about where you want to go with your running.

Common goals are

- achieve 5k if C25K didnt get you there

- improve your 5k times

- extend to 10k and beyond

(there are few 'bridge to 10k' apps, and also ju-ju- 's plan

- start going to Parkruns (when they start up again)

During consolidation, I recommend the 3 excellent supplementary C25K+ podcasts: Stepping Stones, Stamina and Speed.

etc etc

But first... consolidate .

Hope that helps,

John

When you announce your graduation I will send you a link to a guide to post C25k running.

If you cannot wait, it is sitting in the FAQ Posts, which you will find in the Pinned Posts.

There really is no need to worry........

Hi, I’ve been using Nike Run app. It’s free and as I’m Scottish, that’s a bonus. There’s lots of distance and timed runs. And you can choose just to have your distance announced. You can use their music or, like me, your own Spotify track. It gives you all of the usual info, splits etc. It also gives badges for new achievements which I kind of like. Not sure what that says about how mature I am! I completed my first 10k today with it. It’s not couch to 5 k so the toughest thing for me in the transition was choosing my own distances to run. I liked the discipline of being told what was expected each day. But I’m pretty happy with the programme, and the coaching is pretty good if you choose that facility.

Thank you! I do like a good badge! I like the awards that the Apple Watch has as well. I’ve downloaded the Nike app and shall see how I get on!
