Smashed week 7 run 1 however today was a lot different. Just after my trainer said I had ran for 5 minutes, I started to experience calf pain. It wasn’t that painful so I carried on for a while longer before it got too unbearable and I had to stop and walk for a bit. I then sucked it up to run the last 10 minutes very slowly but am disappointed as my calves always seem to be the reason I don’t complete a run.
Anyone know why this is??

Is it both calves? Could be hydration, lack of post run stretches, more strengthening work needed, footfall, speed, small injury, or a few other things. If it’s one calf, and the same one all the time, it could be a little injury... which is less likely if it’s both. Have you tried taking a couple of extra rest days?
It’s mainly both calves but some days it will be just my left one. I’ve taken a few days off but have tried to get back into it this morning and it’s back to hurting again
