When i was running about 2 years ago i had a large blister on the side of my foot which became infected and kept me out of running for a few months! I never found the cause of this blister. I am now wearing different running shoes and today while completing a 10k i felt a blister starting to appear in the exact same place on the outside on the side of my foot. Any suggestions what may have caused the his and any tips how to prevent it?
Thanks

Sympathy from a fellow sufferer! Mine are on the inside of both feet. I have not yet found a way to stop them. I was fine until 13k in a newer pair of shoes and have had blisters ever since, for the last two years. I have tried various brands of shoes - larger sizes, wide fit, normal fit ...
I minimise the discomfort by using a Compeed patch, topped with either leukotape or KT tape (some people find the tape alone is enough). I also wear twinskin socks. I have bought some patches to stick inside my trainers but haven't tried these yet! I can run to HM distance but the thing that is screaming for the last 10k is the burning in my feet! I just accept it now 🙄
