Rest, drink plenty of water and decide on the day. If you decide on an extra rest day remember to do something instead like go for a nice walk do some stretches or yoga. The one thing that I have found made a difference is squats, i started with 10 every morning and now i just do them until i get bored. 80 is my most so far but usually i do 20 or 30 then get bored

If you keep moving on your rest day you will not ache to nearly the same degree.............sitting down is the worst thing you can do.

You won't do any harm by running, nor by having an extra rest day.

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow, as recommended in the guide to the plan.

Many people do not hold their stretches for long enough or put enough effort in. Hold post run stretches for 30 seconds and make sure the pull is strong enough to be on the verge of discomfort.

I also got told when you finish your stretches lie on your back with your legs in the air( up against a wall is easier) for 10 mins and that seems to help get rid of aches. Something to do with lactic acid being dispersed?

Go with your gut feeling and take an extra rest day. Week 7! Well done.
