A bit late to the party...

Just completed wk4r1. Got up really early so I wouldn’t be seen lol. Went much better than I thought. I couldn’t run for 1 minute in week 1. Look forward to and feel apprehensive about each new week at the same time. I’m looking forward to running 5k and it being a regular part of my life.

I was very apprehensive about each week ahead until I decided to run slowly. When I really got to grips with runnning at such a slow speed that I could have spoken whole sentences without falling in the ditch for lack of oxygen I found I could manage each run relatively well and the lurking feeling of dread disappeared. I also used to go out very early the first few weeks so no-one would see me - and I used to keep my eyes down, working on the basis that if I couldn't see people around me, they wouldn't be able to see me. That surely works!

Well done! You should be super proud. ☺️

I’m on week 1 and find it challenging. I hope I be like you and preserve.

I used to do that in the early weeks hide around the back streets

I’m not saying I’m a runner now but just complete W7r2 and ran pass our local bakery with a huge queue outside this morning 😂😂😂

I did W4R1 yesterday and deliberately kept to a slow jog. But when I got back home I analysed my route (Samsung Health) and I wasnt actually that much slower - 7.7mph max compared to 8.6 mph W3R3. I know neither are particularly fast. The main thing is I finished all the runs. I actually prefer doing longer runs and less of them. I can work on speeding up when I get to running for half an hour regularly. Good luck. I'm really starting to enjoy this!

Wow that’s amazing! 7.7mph is pretty fast I think, unless my maths is wrong but that’s about 12k per hour. My ‘fastest’ speed for my wk4 run 1 yesterday was 7.7kmp 🙈 so considerably slower than you. Keep it up and your hit 5k well under 30mins 😊

That's what my app says. My average was considerably lower at 5.5mph 🤔

That is still faster than me 🙈😂

I think you’re faster than you think you are 👍👍👍
