W2R1

After finishing week 1 I ended up with a pulled left calf so gave it couple of days before today's week 2 run 1 , surprisingly I'm really enjoying it but on the 3rd run section my right calf goes. Any tips to help with sore / pulled muscles. No ibuprofen based remedies or sprays as I cant take it

I had this problem. Look at chi jogging on YouTube and also the placement of your feet. I try and land more on middle of my foot instead of front and it helps. I did laugh at myself as I felt like I was shuffling but I don't get calf pain anymore 🤞

Keep going but take it slow.

Good luck 👊

Ice it but mainly you need to make sure stretch properly when you get back not before you go because stretching on cold muscles will end up injuring you. Go on Runner’s world website it’s really informative

Make sure you stretch your calves both before and after, a foam roller is amazing for this and they are cheap in Aldi at the moment! Made a massive difference to me. Also ensure you are hydrated enough
