Help with Run 1

I started couch25k on my 59th birthday 2 weeks ago.

I'm struggling to complete the first run, I've bough knee supports which has helped but I'm only managing about 4 of 6 60 second runs, replacing them with brisk walks.

Any tips? I don't want to move on to run 2 until I fully complete run 1.

Welcome and well done...have you checked out the FAQ post for Newbies?

If you are struggling, you may be going to quickly?

Slow and steady is the mantra..:)

Try the knee exercises here too and see if they help.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.

Enjoy your journey.
