Totally gutted

So a few weeks ago I rode my bike along one of the many cycle routes in the local area here in Sussex. I thought how nice it would be to go for a run along on it. Ran up and then turned around to come back. Got half way back and boom my left calf muscle goes pop. Left it for two weeks and this morning decided to go for a small run round my local park. 15 minutes in and boom it goes again. Just read on google that it could take up to 6 weeks to repair itself. Anybody got any advice on how to fix it a bit quicker?

So sorry to hear that. I had something similar years ago (before I started running) and I'm afraid it took ages to get back to the point where I could even walk properly. I kept rushing to 'normal' activity levels and my calf kept popping, such a horrible feeling! Try to get an appointment with a physio if possible, they can recommend strengthening and stretching exercises to help you along. Good luck!
