Faster or slower ???)

I did my second consolidation run Saturday and I was able to run for 35 minutes. I am better at running longer if my pace is slower and I enjoy this, however would it be better to increase my pace and run for 30 minutes? What is better for you in the long term? I have read the consolidation stuff.

Thanks Bev

If you have read the guide to post C25k running then you will know that to get faster you probably need to spend more time (75-80%) running at an easy conversational pace, then push much harder in the remainder using intervals or fartlek.

If you want maximum health benefits then there is no need to run fast or for long, according to several studies that have shown slow runners live longer than non and fast runners and the optimum weekly distance is as low as 3 miles.

She keeps saying I’m the app that distance not speed is the key to improved fitness 🤷🏻‍♂️😊

That’s good then. Although fitness is a major thing for me, I’m also wanting to lose about half a stone too. My downfall is my sweet tooth 🙄. I’m definitely more of a distance runner but going slowly rather than a sprinter 😂.
