Is anyone else running more then the 3 runs a week or feel like they want to run more?? I’ve been thinking about it but I don’t want to over do it, so I’m not too sure..

I ran 3.5 runs a week... that is I went every other day. More frequently than that will slow your muscle development and also massively increase the injury risk.

When you run, the impact creates microtears in your muscles, which repair and strengthen on your rest days, not while running. Without rest, repair and strengthening are compromised and injury risk increased.

If you want to be the best runner that you can be, then do non impact cross training on your rest days, which will be far more beneficial than running every day. It is not recommended for new runners to run on consecutive days until they have a minimum of six months regular running on their legs.

It's good to read this advice. Today I ran wk 6 run 3 this morning with my footie playing daughter by my side she is obviously fit and wants to go for a run tomorrow and asked me and I was thinking about it until I read this. I will walk the field she can run it.
