Is it just that we are runners we notice more runners?

Yeah I see loads now, where do they all come from? Even my husband shouts out 'runner!', which has me rushing to the window to see if I know them x
On Hove sea front it sometimes seems like there are more runners than walkers!
Runners flock to Cambridge cos it's flat! Nah only jesting. I think the sudden warm spell has made folks rush to get in their runs before the weather breaks again.
I'm apparently known to one local dog owner not as 'the one with that little terrier', but 'the one who's always running around the village', as a friend told me (after meeting her while walking my dog!)... There aren't many runners out here in the sticks, but I definitely notice them more nowadays than I used to.
Possibly weather related?
Yes, I think runners notice other runners but it's also true that running is increasingly popular.
How about this: my wife can spot runners that she knows just by their gait. It's a kind of magic!
I was recently in England (for a race) and thought the place was positively swarming with runners! From Brighton to Northampton they were everywhere!
Also that new grad girl, ridingstar, she seems to have got a fair few out there and I bet each of us has, wittingly or unwittingly, influenced at least one person to start running ... Its like pyramid selling without the money!!!
My friend who has been running for years tells me that this is the most popular time of year for running. She assures me (unfortunately) that come October I will be running in virtual solitude again for 6 months!
I think Cambridge runners must all go out in the early mornings. I generally run about 10 AM and rarely see another runner.
