Help I’m stuck ☹️

I started C25K at the beginning of April and completed up to and including W6R2 after a few hiatuses. However I now haven’t run for just over two weeks due to the heat, lack of motivation and a general feeling of apathy.

I really enjoyed running when I did but I am now struggling to find my get up and go! Should I start from scratch? Repeat some runs? Or just pick up where I left off?

I would be grateful for your thoughts 🙂 thank you 🙏

I too find the heat difficult. It's much cooler here today, so that's that one dealt with.

Motivation/feeling apathetic? To my mind 'motivation' is not floating in the ether waiting to land on one person or another. Why did you start this? What do you want to achieve?

This is about discipline, setting a time for the run and then getting out and doing it. They say it takes 3 months to establish a habit. I suggest you timetable your running and then stick to it.

You will feel a lot less apathetic after you run.

You should be able to pick up from where you left off, but if it helps your confidence you could repeat week 6.

So off you go now...

Thank you that was just what I needed - I shall stop navel gazing and get on with it!

Did you go?

No I didn’t I went for a bike ride and worked on my allotment for 3 hours. I am going at 8:30 tonight with my husband who is going to give it a go too.

I started in January last year, took til November to get to week 8, run 2 and then had to stop for family reasons. But I started again in March. Because it was a fairly long break, I went back to week 2, but found this much, much easier than I had the first time, because I knew I could do it. I went back so far because I didn't want to start somewhere further along and then disappoint myself. Maybe go back a week or so, just so that you can complete a run with ease and get back into the habit?
