WK3R5 + 16k Walk

I forgot to write this one yesterday but did week 3 for the 5th time. Completed it fully and with less bother this time, and at a faster pace. I am going to do it two or three more times before I move on to week 4 as I feel like it is quite a jump to get up to the 5 minute mark.

Today, I did a 16k walk, from my house near Brick Lane to Primrose Hill near Regents Park. It was absolutely beautiful, we went the long way along the canal and I definitely recommend taking this walk if you get a chance. Especially with the beautiful weather we're having lately! The canals are just beautiful and you get to know so much more of London by walking to places. Just remember to respect everyone on the paths, cyclists and joggers too when they need to pass!

Looking forward to doing run 3 again on Monday or Tuesday. Whilst today is my rest day, I did such a huge walk today I may have an extra rest day if I feel I need it. It should be colder next week too which I hope will help with stamina on the run.

Looking forward to completing week 3 with absolutely no fuss so I can move on to week 4.

That walk sounds beautiful. I'm so looking forward to getting out beyond my usual routes, but I'm discovering footpaths that I didn't know existed, so every cloud! Good luck with your next run, but you are really being super cautious. If you can complete it without stopping next time, then move on to week four. I know 5 minutes feels huge but you are ready for it now. Trust the program, it works.

It is absolutely beautiful - totally recommend it! I am being cautious yes, but its more of a mental battle. I'm just happy to take this at my own pace and keep on going til I get to the end.

Well there's nothing wrong with being cautious if it gives you the confidence to carry on, whatever works for you 😊👍

Well done for starting C25k, but there is no need to repeat runs , and no need to go faster. Just take each run as it comes and run it at conversation pace. You only need to repeat it if you cannot complete the time. It’s a great plan and you can trust it it to get you to 30 minutes without injury .

It sounds like you’ve got some great places to run along the canals.

Thanks for the advice. I really am taking this at my own pace and I see nothing wrong with that. I appreciate you can go from week to week but that’s not what I want to do, I’d rather repeat a few times to get it right. This is probably more of a mental thing than physical and everyone’s on their own paths. Thanks!
