I’m currently on week 5 run 2 and I weighed myself today, as I noticed my stomach has been quite bloated.
I’ve actually gained 3 pounds. During the first week or two, I really tried to cut back but recently I haven’t been feeling well (hormonal) and eating more. Is this a reason to feel demotivated? Or would it just make more sense to stop stuffing my face?
Thank you!

My whole aim was to regain control of my body on my way through peri menopause into menopause. Weight gain can be water..... think of your body like an engine. Put in only as much fuel as you are going to burn. If you expend more energy you need a little more if you do less, eat less.... ofcourse the next thing is what you eat, and then how you eat ( standing, Infront of the tv etc) and how often...... there’s a lot more to this than we are led to believe....be kind to yourself, focus on getting the runs in and achieving that 30 mins run. Hormones, sadly are beyond our control. Trust me ..... finally through to menopause and after three years of having a body that didn’t really respond to anything, I’m finally back to my old self. Good luck
I've had a week or two like that 🙈 if it's hormonal, the pounds usually disappear as fast as they appeared. Nothing to worry about, just keep running. I found that I am a stress eater. Running helps me deal with the stress, so I eat less. Most days I manage intermittent fasting. I'm on week 6 run 2 and I'm about 4 pounds lighter than when I started 😉
There is no easy way round the fact that you only lose weight if you are in calorie deficit and running for a few minutes burns very few calories, which means you have to reduce your calorie intake.
Hi - Being a real lard arse I thought I'd loose alot of weight running and I did...nearly 10kg! However I've put 5 kg back on since completing the C25K program. I start wk 16 next week (9 weeks of C25K and then 7 weeks of 5-10% increases each week) and although I'm not loosing weight yet, I am feeling tighter and able to run 5km (although very slowly: 55mins).
I haven't altered my diet much - I just have to learn how to control my sweet tooth and tame my predeliction for wine!
Play the long game and I'm sure you'll get back on track (well that's my plan!).
I agree about controlling the sweet tooth, that’s definitely a problem of mine! Thanks again x
Been there believe me ..and my daughter too...had loads of advice from here...but I'm into WK7 and look like a different woman..total weight lost in 7 week: 5lb..but I just look and feel different 🏃♀️⭐💃
I would love to lose some weight but it is largely food related and I’m just not there yet mentally. I’m doing what I can - the exercise habit from C25K is a massive achievement for me and I’ve had no booze and more water in lockdown. I finish week 7 today and next week I’m going to start changing my diet slightly to see if I can shift a bit - the weight didn’t come on overnight so it’s not going to go in a hurry either. Good luck x
