Weight gain

Hi I have started to run. Week 1 of c25k. I am a slimming World member and had lost 11lb and have been feeling really good. Weighed in today and gained a pound. I know it can happen but feeling down. I don't want to stop running I am really enjoying it. Has anyone else had the same problem and did the weight eventually shift?

Women's weight fluctuates for all kinds of reasons. If you are actively trying to lose weight it is probably better to look at your weight over a month than a week. Don't let it get to you. It's only a number. Concentrate on aiming to feel fitter and stronger. Well done on starting.

A fluctuation of just a pound can be down to fluid retention, so don’t waste a minute of your precious life worrying about that! Don’t be down, be determined and persistent. You may not lose weight on C25K, but regular exercise, eating healthy unprocessed food (with the odd treat), plenty of water and extreme patience will reward you with gradual, sustainable weight loss over time. You are in the road to a much healthier lifestyle, so be proud. x

Fat turned to muscle. Don’t worry it seems crazy. I used to start a spring regime each year and the same happened. Then all of a sudden bang it goes! I lost a stone on c25k and had exactly the same issue! Keep calm and keep running 🏃‍♂️!

It’s fluid. Not fat to muscle. Especially not this early on.

I too am doing slimming world and couch to 5k, my weight fluctuates more when I’ve had a carb day running has never adversely affected it, don’t beat yourself up it’s better for you to exercise than not at all. You’ll see a difference next week for sure!!

When you start you get tiny micro tears which fill with water. It’ll drop back off in a week or two. I promise. Keep going.
