Hi I’ve just finished week 2 and in between runs I’ve been doing different exercise and keeping myself really active and I’ve just got on the scales and there saying I’ve actually put weight on I feel so disheartened 😳

If you have been building muscle then it is not unusual to gain a bit of weight as muscle is heavier than fat !

Hi Berryboo,

Its water.... I'm no scientist, but I understand that as you are using your muscles more, they tear slightly, and your body fills those little tears with water.... or something like that.

I think after my first couple of runs I added about 3lb to the scales, but I am also on a calorie controlled diet, so I have lost weight quite quickly since (I have a lot to lose!).

See you at the finish line....

I've lost almost 2 stone since last July, but I noticed that it seemed harder to shift the pounds when I started c25k. I have definitely developed muscles in my legs that I had no idea existed.

I've definitely lost an inch from waist since the start of April though, so can vouch that something good is definitely happening
