I’ve just finished week 9 and Im starting to feel a bit lost with what’s next. I’ve decided to just continue running for 30 minutes in the hope it starts to feel easier and more enjoyable. I’ve noticed that part of the problem is that I’m constantly thinking of how far I am through a run and assessing how I’m feeling which is making it feeling longer and more tiring! I need to try and switch off but simply enjoying music isn’t helping. I wanted to ask what other people listen to while they run or if you have any tricks to distract the brain?

Have you ever thought about running with nothing but the sounds of your environment in your ears.........revolutionary, maybe, but lets the brain go where you want it to and helps you actually see where you are running.
I’ve got audible and recently I’ve found it better listening to a book as it helps me switch off .. read some listen to podcasts. Well done on finishing 👏🙌 ☺️

Many runners run to all kinds of music, talking podcasts, radio or nothing at all, while running, run to what you like best regarding music.
I listened to dance music. But I also found I was always distracted with how far I'd run and what pace, I switched on voice cues on my fitbit so it notified me every 1k and told me the pace. I found that was quite motivational because I ended up going a bit faster because I wanted to hear I'd done another 1k!
Congratulations on your graduation!
I am four runs into consolidation and I have started to listen to podcasts and I have to say it has really helped take my time off the time. I have also reduced the time notifications in my sports watch. I I now have a ten min alerts that give me an idea of where I would expect to be on my route and it helps me pick my pace up if needed.
Congratulations on finishing and consolidating? I listen to The Archers omnibus at the moment 😊
Podcasts have really helped me stops thinking about the time, better than music. I’m enjoying ‘healthy runner’ and ‘the health code’ but you should search for a topic that interests you, gardening, cooking, Psychology, there’s something for everyone! I would recommend looking for ones 30mins or over tho, don’t want to be changing podcasts in the middle of a run!
