My Time. My Space. My Pace

I’m so pleased to say I’ve been out for a run this morning and really enjoyed it. This might sound crazy as I graduated at the end of may but I seem to have found any excuse since and have been hard on myself as 5km seems so far away.

I’ve brushed myself off and have been looking back at my past posts and running log and can see how far I’ve come so I’m not going to put pressure on myself and just enjoy running. Today I managed 25mins in 20c heat.

Today is a sad day as I would normally run along the Cheshire canal or in Macclesfield forest but both are recovering from this weeks floods! Poynton, the village that I work in has been completely flooded. Running has helped me discover how amazing the place I call home really is so it’s heartbreaking.

There are so many people going through worse so I have no reason to reason to feel so for myself.

Fingers crossed for sunshine!

I hope everyone’s well!

Good for you, finding the why is one of the most important things to do after we graduate. I’m a Yorkshire lass at heart and it is breaking my heart seeing pictures of treasured places we used to picnic as kids in such a bad way.

Great to see you back out there. I was in Bramhall yesterday and almost didn’t get out... hopefully the worst is over, just been over there again and the roundabout at the park is covered in mud.

Just seen this Whaley Bridge dam collapse: Town evacuated over Toddbrook Reservoir fears bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-d... I’m not complaining about my car getting muddy now

Fingers crossed for Whaley Bridge. It’s must be so scary up there!

Like it I just got out of Poynton yesterday as so many roads where shut.

Let’s hope we’ve seen the last of the heavy rain!

Em, I have been looking at the pictures of Poynton, really scary stuff. But the area will recover. Keswick has had one-in-a-lifetime floods twice in 10 years, but it's actually hard to find traces of Storm Desmond damage now.

Great to have you back running after your adventures as a fish.

I remember the pics of Cumbria during storm Desmond and it’s amazing how places move on. It’s just so sad it see it happening here again in 2 years.

As much as I enjoyed my run I’m not sure I’m ready to retire my flippers altogether. 🐠🐙🐬🐟

Great stuff Em, this is your journey, running is yours! And it's supposed to be something that you enjoy, something that helps. I completely understand not wanting to 'put pressure' on yourself. Run when you want, and keep cooling down on those swings. 😄

Thank CL. You really can’t beat the swings. I would’ve had to fight young children for them today so give them a miss.

You’ve got me thinking, it’s time for a new hat! What should my slogan be? x

Into the swing of it!
