Wk 7 R2 : Becoming a slightly faster tortoise! Very happy!

Nearly done with wk 7 and really happy that I’m still getting through it! It’s getting a bit harder but I can see that Im getting into a rhythm. Running the entire journey is a weird experience because when I was run/walking the program was managing my energy levels. Now it’s my responsibility to do it and I’m learning on every run.

Anyway as the runs have gotten longer my pace has slowed. In the last few runs, I was running a pace of 1 km in 11min. Today I ran a pace of 1 km in 9.49 min. It was great because I didn’t actually try to run faster, just be conscious of not slowing down so much after the uphill parts of the run and breathing evenly. I was worried about running out of energy but it actually felt easier to run it at a slightly faster pace. My legs got into more of a rhythm.

I’m still very slow but it’s nice to see that I am improving! I have no intention of trying to improve speed but it’s nice to know that just correcting breathing and other things will improve my pace for me!
