W6 R1 ... Not my best... understandably

After a jubilant completion of W5 earlier this week , I came down with a severe bout of headache and nausea (which I think is thyroid related) but which made me spent an afternoon horizontal with cold forehead compresses and lemon tea.

So I knew W6 R1 today might not result in the easy runs I experienced over the last weeks.

But knowing this helped, as well as being thrown back to 5-8-5 min run stages.

But back ached again, knees are tender, my tingling toes made a return, and my legs felt actually heavy during the whole run for the first time.

But I completed and feel better for it.

And, my run ended close to home than ever before, so I might need to start thinking about a double loop!

Hi I am under active thyroid but never get the headaches you describe. hope i don’t either. i’m on week 6 run 3 coming up and did this to get fit and lose weight as nothing works when overactive. but so far i’ve put on another half stone in weight although I don’t look bigger. I know muscle weighs heavier. Will I eventually drop some pounds?

I am hoping for the same but am hypothyroid (Hashimotos). But half a year ago I went completely gluten and dairy free and have added nutrients to heal my gut. And from various forums i read, it often appears that you get nausea and headaches when you move from hypo to hyper. So I am now wondering if nutrition, gut healing and running has allowed me to make the most of my medication and that my gut is healing. But yes, no weight loss yet or ultra slow, but early days. But runs make feel great!
