W6R2 done!

Well that wasn’t pretty, but knew if I did not get out early it would be too hot and I’d talk myself out of it. Not sure I’m ever going to enjoy running, per se, but do really enjoy the sense of accomplishment and I am definitely getting fitter and stronger. The Toxic Ten almost kills me every time but knowing it will pass, and trying every trick in my arsenal to distract myself, seems to be getting me through. Can anyone recommend a good running soundtrack? Something super energetic and distracting? Getting bored of my playlist.

Well done you! I did this yesterday and the sense of accomplishment is great! How you feeling about R3 coming up? As for a running playlist I am not one to help as I exclusively listen to musicals as a distraction... Not really for everyone 😅

Trying to keep an open mind about W6R3. I didn't think I could do 20 minutes last week, yet managed that, so fingers crossed.

Well done!!!! A great idea to avoid the heat. 👏. I changed to podcasts as found they helped more. a great range too. Plus I have conversations with myself. That’s fun! People think I’m odd thought 😀

Yup, I find I regularly need to change things up to keep myself distracted.

Well done on your run👍.

I use 'Google play' for my music.

It has radio stations for genres, moods, activities. There's no djs or anythings it just plays mixtures of songs.

I used '80's workout' today.

There are some good free running soundtracks on BBC Sounds, if that helps.

I did the same run yesterday evening and it was brutal! The first part was OK but the second I found really tough, maybe the heat was a factor, but so relieved when it was over!

The heat is definitely part of it. I have been trying to go as early in the morning as I can, and running in the shade. With me the first bit is always the toughest bit. Trying to keep a really open mind about the 25 minute run coming up.

Well done to you for W6R2! Toxic Ten can be a nightmare to get through but you did it, well done again. I’m on W6R3 tomorrow morning 🥴

Thanks! Good luck tomorrow! I'm trying to keep an open mind about that run. How do you feel about it?

Ha ha, trying not to over think it. If for some reason it doesn’t work out, then I’ll keep trying. It’ll be interesting that’s for sure 😅

I did that run this morning.. I struggled so much with the last 10 mins.. heat didn’t help but I found the 20 minute run last week so much better! My face was on fire this morning haha!! I might try podcasts to help keep me going. Good luck to you for week 6 run 3.. we can do this 🙌

Wow , your brilliant and resilient. Don’t stop .

I use PODRUNNER 148 Beats Per Minute.

podcasts.apple.com/gb/podca...

You may / may not like this kind of beat / music.

PODRUNNER offers different beats per min. - You may need to try a few before you find once that is suitable to your pace.

After I graduated , I missed Michael talking to me and keeping me on track .

I now use STRAVA . This gives me info every .5 K , and when I have reach my target, I can pause - it records my distance . Then I continue with my cool down walk .

I too find it very difficult to run if it’s over 12degrees . I overheat very quickly .

I’m now considering really early runs 5 ish or late 9 ish !

Errrrrr

All the best , you will make it and shout YES - I’ve done it :) 🐾
