Congratulations on completing weeks 1 to 4 and runs 1 and 2 of week 5 of C25K, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish, run 3 of week 5 is the first longer run of the course, I do do think you are ready to run it now as you have now ran run 2 six times despite thinking you are not ready, take run 3 slowly, drink plenty of water the day before you run and some just before, once you have completed it you will be very proud of yourself 😊 🏃🏾 good luck. 👍

Why do you think you are not ready?

W5R3 is the shortest overall duration workout since W3.

It is explained in this breakdown of W5 healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You can do this.

I think everyone approaches 5/3 with some apprehension- but if you’ve followed the programme- and you’ve even repeated - you CAN do it!! All the advice above- hydrate etc but most important - steady and slow wins the race- it’s the best advice I was given - And if like me you like a good playlist when you’re running, get some good tunes on and if you can’t sing along you’re going too fast!! 🐌 🐢

Enjoy - you’ve got this! And you are going to be buzzing 🐝 when you’re done. Please let us know!!

I was sooo anxious before w5r3, I couldn't sleep the night before and ended up getting up at 4.30 a.m. just to get it over with, thinking if I can't do it st least I'll know and can just repeat earlier runs.. but it was absolutely fine!! Michael was telling me I'd run for 10 minutes before I knew it! And I'd gotten into a good rhythm by then, so it wasn't too hard to just carry on... And afterwards I felt so proud of myself and exhilarated!

So basically just do it! You're ready even though you don't think you are. Just trust the programme. You've totally got this!

If you have completed it each time then I think you would be fine to move on.

I’m at the exact same place as you, I’ve repeated w5r2 5 or 6 times (forgotten now!) but only the last two runs did I do it without stopping.

Today I am doing w5r3, scared but I am going to try my hardest to finish it! Good luck.

Hi Bg52de

it seems you´re gripped by mental gremlins. If you´ve done W5R2 *6* times your *BODY* (obviously not your mind) is ready to run W5R3 ... TWICE!

Let´s get 1 thing very clear ... your BODY is ready for W5R3., it´s just that your mind is not. Your head is telling you " OMG, no way, that´s not possible". But then you may have thought that in Week 2 or 3 or 4 ...

A program like this works by your accumulating fitness with every run you do. Week 1 is gentle enough for a couch potato. Week 1 prepares your for Week 2. Weeks 1 PLUS Week 2 gives you the fitness for Week 3, etc etc.

By the time of W5R3 you´ll have been out 14 times and run for 157 minutes .... think about that... that´s over 2.5 hours of running ... more than enough to prepare you for 20 minutes.

Don´t believe me? Have a look here:

healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and here:

You don´t need luck... just belief.

Do it!

I’ve got W5R3 tomorrow and I too feel apprehensive, but every time I’ve felt like this I’ve gone on to reach the next step, the program hasn’t let me down yet, you can do it 😊
