I’m 17 stone and never thought I’d get this far. The 5 minute section really played on my mind never mind having to do it twice!
My breathing is much better and I seem to be getting into a rhythm with that. It’s just the lactic acid building up in my legs to deal with now. That’s the most uncomfortable part for me, my legs are feeling it!
Chuffed to bits though. 😊

Congratulations on completing weeks 1 to 3 and run 1 of week 4, glad that you got through the two five minute sections without any problems whatsoever, onwards and upwards to run 2 of week 4.
I was over 18st when I started and I had the same lactic build up. If it helps, I’m now at week 8, nearly a stone lighter and running with no lactic buildup. It gets better and easier imho.
Do the warm up and cooldown walks and stretch afterwards.
Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.
Completed the very same run today. A 9stone light weight but those same 5 mins played heavily on my mind, legs like lead and had all on to stop my head from telling me to quit.
I'm a big person too (currently 19.5 stone) and have graduated. If I can, you can.
Biggest tips are as Ionnada said above, walking warm up and warm down, stretching afterwards and water intake. I started getting a muscle strain in my gluteus medius (upper bum), stretching sorted it out. Will get a lot more important as you run further so definitely suggest getting in the habit now before it becomes a problem!
Well done! I did week 4 runs 1&2 then "stuff" got in the way....so I'm repeating week 4. It's going to take longer than 9 weeks for me to get there, but I will get there!!!
