Well pleased with run. I managed my 10th fastest 5k in 28.08mins. My second 5k this week I think first time since before lockdown in total around 5.5 miles including warm up, warm down and the evening dog walk. Pleased to say running at 100% peak heart rate again and faster than Tuesdays run. I hope all are ok, staying safe and healthy.

Thanks Shannon. Decided it was a nice evening so would venture out for a second run and not just one maintenance run for this week. Heading in the right direction again.

Well done!

But pray tell, what is "peak heart rate"?

It’s a reading from your Fitbit that tells you what your heart rate is doing when your exercising.

Any idea what it means, it's significance, or what it relates to?

I put another post up with the results all to do with age and how effective it is.

Running at 100% heart rate? The whole distance? Surely not?!

Just going by the Fitbit results, possibly it’s because already walked nearly 2 miles before starting the run.

I suspect it is not maximum HR as we generally understand it. Possibly a proprietary Fitbit metric.

WHAT IS MY RESTING HEART RATE ON MY FITBIT DEVICE?

Resting heart rate is the number of times your heart beats per minute when you are still and well rested. This metric can be an important indicator of your fitness level and overall cardiovascular health. The typical resting heart-rate range for adult Fitbit users is 50-90 beats per minute. Active people often have a lower resting heart rate. For more information, see the Fitbit Blog.

Fitbit uses your heart-rate data from when you’re both awake and asleep to estimate your resting heart rate. For best results, wear your device to sleep.

WHAT ARE HEART-RATE ZONES?

Heart-rate zones, which are percentages of your maximum heart rate, can help you determine the intensity of your workout or activity.

HOW DOES MY FITBIT DEVICE CALCULATE MY HEART-RATE ZONES?

The formula Fitbit uses to calculate your heart-rate zones is based on your device.

Fantastic! Sounds like a great run!👏

It's usually recommended that your most vigorous exercise, for short periods, should be at about 85% of your maximum. Having said that, wrist based trackers can be quite inaccurate. Useful as a guide, but don't rely on your Fitbit. Listen to your body and how you're feeling. 👍
