What a sense of achievement this morning. Cold and windy but I made it. Can’t say I’m enjoying the actual running, but define got a buzz when I’d finished.

I think I may have started too fast, although I sometimes feel I’m hardly moving. I was glad when the first 5mins were up but felt as if 10minutes was never coming and couldn’t understand it. Then Michael said that was half way and I relaxed.

It’s the furthest I’ve ever run and had 2hills this time as I had to double back on my route near the end bit made it. The one minute warning seemed to arrive really quickly and I even speeded up for the last minute.

According to Strava, I did 3k at an average of 8.5mins/k so I’m really happy with that.

I’m feeling confident I’ll manage the 30 minutes in a couple of weeks and even though it won’t be 5k just running for 30mins is an achievement. Another bonus is the weight loss, a lb a week since I started it and inches++. I’ll come out of lockdown a new me!!

Well done.

If you are not enjoying it, maybe you are working too hard..........most of us do not like sustained periods of hard physical effort.

Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.

Slowing down makes it all easier and for many, more enjoyable.

Thanks. I don’t think I’m going too fast. I’m on my own so no one to talk to- hubby runs ahead and doubles back every now and again! I do sing along to some of my music, 70s and 80s, so just as well I’m on my own! I think it’ll be better next week now that I know for sure that I can do it.

I’ve also noticed that my asthma symptoms are much better. Although well controlled, I always used to cough after any exertion, and I don’t now, and hardly cough at all during the day. So another bonus.

Well done on your progress! I also did W6R3 today and it’s a real achievement! We’ll be graduating before long 😁

I make every effort at present no matter how fed up I get to make my daily walk a priority even if its just a short one.

A short walk and showing willing is better than no walk at all!

Good luck, I hope you enjoy it, I felt better than I did week 5 run 3. I am no runner, over 50 and unfit, but I loved it 😁

Haha! Ditto! Always hated it and am determined to graduate before my 50th in July.

Looks like I’m the OAP here, will be 63 on Sunday -which should be a rest day. Good planning! Hopefully I’ll be finished week 7 by then and hoping to graduate by the end of the month
