Hi everyone. I just wanted to say hello. I started the C25K a couple of days ago and have just completed second run on week one. I have to say I’m really enjoyed it. Currently furloughed with 2 kids I got fed up of getting up late everyday and having no routine. I’m slightly overweight at a size 14 and don’t do any exercise as I’ve always had an excuse of being busy at work and kids etc. But now I’m going to make time for me and continue. I know it’s still early days, but I’m feeling determined. I’m going to do my third run on week one tomorrow as don’t think having a day in between benefits me. Love to hear other people’s stories on how they started out and where they are. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Thank you! I’ve just been reading up on it. I did my second run on week 1 today. I’m keen to do the third tomorrow but realise the importance of rest and how my body needs time to adapt. I just wonder what other forms of exercise people do instead of running? I want to her our every day so I’m thinking I’ll just go for a walk tomorrow instead. Is that safe to do or will that hinder my progress?
