Week 3 run 1

Due to inner knee aches after my last run I took a week off while using strengthening exercises for my knees. This morning I was out early listening to nature's soundtrack to complete week 3 run 1. I have some more supportive trainers (unfortunately not proper running trainers yet due to lockdown - I would rather try on lots of pairs in 1 go to try rather than having to worry about returns/cost etc) and I slowed down even further to cope with my first 3 minute run. I think I may have pushed my last run as I was enjoying it. This morning felt good with no twinges from my knees and I managed the 3 minutes without becoming too short of breath (Thankfully no one around to see/hear me talking to myself - I find this helps as if I am able to talk in sentences I am going at the right pace) . Lots of stretching afterwards followed by my regular yoga practice. Looking forward to the next run.

That all sounds really positive! Well done on listening to your knee and taking action. It's worth keeping up those knee strengthening exercises as you go through the program, putting extra load on your knee. Keep doing what you're doing and good luck 😊
