Hello - I am starting w4 tomorrow, but had a week off because I wasn't motivated. I really need to get back on track but feel like I cant do it. Anyone got any advice to stay on track?

starting w4 tomorrow and new on here need motivation

I’ve just done week 4 run 1. I have to confess week 4 was really tough - today seemed much easier?! Not sure why! - BUT I was sooo proud of myself for finishing week 4 because I really did feel like I’d hit a wall fitness and motivation wise.... I know it’s easy to say but JUST DO IT! Give yourself some credit for getting back on track, get a decent playlist and have a go! You’ll be pleased with yourself and the plus side is that week 5 run 1 is easier than week 4.... well I found so anyway!
Good luck 😊

Well, you've made a good start by posting here! I'm now on week 6 and I found week 4 to be a turning point - I think this was when it dawned on me that maybe I could do what was previously unimaginable, because the app ( and this whole community) really believed in me 🙂. Since then I haven't been frightened by any of the challenges, I just tell myself "Sanjeev thinks I can do it, so of course I can"! And so can you - read the other posts here, be inspired and enjoy the journey 🤗

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Why do you think you can't do it?
If you follow the pacing advice in the guide it will all become achievable and actually enjoyable.
Motivation has to come from you, so write down all those reasons that went through your mind before you started and cross them off if they no longer apply. When they are all gone, you can retire to the couch again, or carry on being fitter, healthier and happier than ever before by simply going for a run.
YOU CAN DO THIS!
Enjoy your journey.
I am on week 5, can honestly say week 4 was my favourite. Once I’d upped my walking speed and slowed my jogging speed it was so much better (I could actually breathe!). Good luck with run 1 of week 4, hope you enjoy it! X
