Mixing It Up

Today was a running day. I am trying to mix it up a bit at the moment with my goal being to run for at least 30 minutes 3 times a week.

All my running has been on roads so I decided to head for the sports field to do laps. I also wanted to vary my pace by doing a mixture of jogging, running and sprints.

I kept going for the full 30 minutes and although I didn't do many I enjoyed the sprints. Please remember sprint is a relative term. I can't remember when I last tried to run as fast as I could. It was really good fun. It also raised my heart rate higher than I normally would.

I enjoyed the change and will keep it in my running routine.

Great goal Nightingale and well done on trying out a different type of run.

I do most of my running off-road at the moment due to a slightly niggly knee. Much as I enjoy a road run, you can't beat the trails for variety and sheer beauty. Grass tends to be more energy sapping but great for building up strength.

Take care and stay safe.🙂🌈

I usually avoid grass for exactly the reason you give. But given how little rain we gave had lately it was ideal.
