Good to know I'm not alone

Hi all,

Just joined and I'm a first time runner! At 70. Had injuries last year, fractured knee, pelvis! Both trauma and not frailty! 2 years ago, fractured spine playing walking football....first (and last) time!!! I should know better. Was doing badminton and padel tennis till the knee and pelvis "incidents". So here we are! Have done week 1 twice and now today is 2nd run of week 2. I can see my C25k taking longer than the 9 weeks guideline, but I'll get there!!! Boosted by the great stories here! Keeeeeeep running!

Welcome. Run/jog very slow and remember to stretch before and after your runs. You can do this.

Thanks.... Just completed the run. I watched "slow" running/jogging and that helped, along with feet placing. I feel great after.... tomorrow will be"interesting"!

Welcome to the forum and well done on

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.
