W7R2 and my first run in the rain! 🌧

How is it even possible that I have been running for 6/7 weeks, every other evening now and yesterday evening was my first run in the rain! I haven’t been avoiding running in the rain. It just hasn’t rained until then. It seems bizarre that in Oxfordshire throughout the second half of March and all of April (except a couple of days) we’ve had no rain on my run days and barely any rain at all in that time! That said it was bliss last night. A little cold to start with but I smashed my run by going further, running faster and finishing stronger than Sundays run by a fair amount. The Strava app showed me as having completed 5.31k in total which includes the 5min walks compared to 4.43k on Sunday. I also recovered pretty quickly after my run. I am so pleased with how it’s all going and can hardly believe how far I have come having not run for 15 years prior to starting this programme. I can’t wait to graduate so that I can do the 50 miles in a month challenge to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK in memory of my wonderful Grandma who passed away with that horrific disease in January. I miss her every day and she gives me strength 💪🏽

Well done on still running even though it rained. I actually quite like running in rain as I get far too hot when it’s sunny. I have some of my best runs on rainy days. Having said that we have been quite lucky with the weather lately haven’t we?
