C25K weight loss

Hi, I'm new to this site. I'm 62 yrs old, and female. I'm about to start Week 4, of C25K. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced weight gain in the first few weeks. I'm following Slimming World about 90% of the time (we all have bad days), but I've not lost a thing. Any advice/experience of this, would be welcome.

I’m exactly the same! But only just finished week 2 - but gained 4lbs. I’m hoping it levels out? So you are not alone.

Oh dear well done you. I’m 65 and very overweight. I’m still doing week 2 and not very well. I’ve not been on any diet or weighed myself. At these times just doing the exercise is a result so don’t knock yourself. Keep going I’m so impressed. I barely can do the week 2 jogs without pain in my legs. I don’t go very far or very fast at all !! Go girl we can do it.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

It is not unusual for people to gain weight in the first few weeks, as muscle does weigh more than fat.......but have you measured yourself........you will tone up.

Enjoy your journey.

Thanks for your reply. I understand about the fat/muscle thing, being an ex nurse. My plan was to measure myself at the start, then after four weeks, then on completion, whenever that may be! So I'll know more next Monday when week 5 starts.

I did!, not much.

I then carried on with this wonderful programme, and stopped weighing myself!.

2 years on, still don't weigh myself, but can still fit into my clothes 🤩

When I started C25k I used myfitnesspal and lost about a stone and a half, but I stuck to it religiously. The amount of calories burnt in the early weeks is very little, so I would say consider this in your plan. And if you are doing slimming world is there someone you can get some guidance from as to what to eat less of in order to re start the weightloss? Keep at the programme, you are doing fabulously :)
