Tried today week 4 Run 1...left the house early before the sun came up too much. Could only get through 3/4 of the session. The 5 min run was hard. I tried to slow it right down, but for whatever reason my legs weren’t having it today. I can only think I’ve left it too long between runs..5 days ago i completed the last run of week 3. I’ve been doing other exercises and cardio online. Bit disappointed in myself. Was really looking forward to it. Will try again tomorrow..maybe it was just an off day ☹️☹️
Failed miserably : Tried today week 4 Run... - Couch to 5K
Failed miserably
Never use the word fail or failed here on C25K, put that run down to a practice run, perhaps take one day off, don't run it tomorrow Friday, do another light exercise, drink plenty of water, when you do run 1 of week 4 on Saturday, take the running parts a little slower than you did today.
Well done, you gave it a go.
Most new runners totally underestimate the value of good run preparation, thinking they can just bolt on this hard physical exercise without any thought about it.
Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.
Don't try again tomorrow........have a rest day, hydrate adequately as recommended in the guide to the plan, and give it a nice slow rerun.
You can do this.
I completed week four a day ago, trust me it gets so much better. That last 5 minute run is always incredibly hard so don't feel bad for not completing it. I say try again! The way I make sure I have enough fuel for a run is to drink lots of water within the hour before I plan on going. You got this!!
Thanks all...as per advice I will try again Saturday. 🤞
Let us know how you get on Anniejam!
So, you had a practice run - we've all done them at some time. It's frustrating, but don't let it put you off.
Top tip for heavy legs: drink plenty of water, especially when it's as warm as it was today.
Onward and upward. 👊
